I was just wondering if anyone is available on Monday afternoon to help support Year 2’s OWL session? There are 13 Year 2’s so I ideally need an extra adult to come with myself and Sarah. We set off at 1:30 ish and will be back about 2:45.
Thank you 🙂
Yesterday, we collected different coloured leaves, sticks, acorns etc. We used the objects we had found to make our own pieces of natural art.
Here are some pictures from yesterday’s baking.
Maths – We will be learning about addition. Year 1 will be using numicon, multilink and a number line to add. They will be learning their number bonds for 10/20.
Year 2 will be adding using a 100 square and I will be teaching them how to add by drawing their own number line and counting on.
English – The class will be writing settings. We will be encouraging descriptive language.
Science – the class will be learning about materials and testing different paper strengths.
Tomorrow – Year 1 will be having OWL and Year 2 PE.
Have a good evening 🙂
On Monday the Year 2’s went into the wood and were able to make anything they wanted using the nature around them. Some children made wands, potions or dens which were linked to our learning of the ‘Jolly Postman’. Whereas others used sticks to create peoples initials or decorative pieces of art.
Last week we all had fun working in a team to make a bridge or raft to help the Gingerbread to cross the river. However, it had to be made from cocktail sticks and marshmallows! The learning powers we used was: Don’t give up, help each other and learn from our mistakes.
The PTA are looking for someone who would be able to coordinate the Christmas cards this year. These are cards which the children design themselves, of which a percentage of the sales goes into the PTA fund.

Heather McArragher has the packs for each class and the detailed instructions of what to do.
If you are interested in finding out more or willing to do this please let your child’s teacher or Heather know as it would be such a shame not to do these this year. Thank you.
