Heaven Farm

We have all had a lovely morning at Heaven Farm. Seeing the wallabies was a real highlight. We all drew some wonderful pictures of the wallabies and their joey’s. We then went for a walk through the woods and learnt some really interesting facts. Did you know that it takes 6 years for a bluebell to turn from a seed to a flowering plant? We also found out that Dinosaur bones had been found close to Heaven Farm. After the walk we got to go into the shop and buy an ice-cream.

Heaven Farm

Hello, just a quick reminder that it is the school trip to Heaven Farm tomorrow. I will meet you all at the shop at Heaven Farm at 9am. Please can the children dress in a long sleeved top, trousers and appropriate shoes for walking through the woods. Please can they have a sunhat as well. If your child would like an ice-cream, please bring £2 in a named envelope or wallet. As the weather is good, we will be having a picnic, so please pick the children up at 12:30 and return them to school.

Thank you very much,

See you all tomorrow 🙂

Making Lamingtons

A lamington is an Australian cake, made from squares of sponge cake coated in an outer layer of chocolate sauce and rolled in desiccated coconut. The class had fun making the mixture yesterday and decorating the outside today. I hope they tasted good!

Week beginning 3rd July

Good evening.

This week in English we are researching animals from The Great Barrier Reef. Then by the end of the week the class will start to write a report about their chosen animal. This will continue into next week, where they will present their report to the rest of the class. This allows the class to work on speaking and listening skills.

In Maths we are recapping time. Year 1 will revisit o’clock and half past. Then hopefully they will all move onto quarter past. Year 2 will be reading times to five minutes as well as comparing and sequencing times.

There is no Mike for PE on Monday so we are unable to do OWL.

Tuesday afternoon will be PE.

Just to remind you all that Wednesday morning is sports day. The school will arrive at the rec for 9:20ish! Please can the children have a full water bottle with them. If the weather is hot can they have sun-cream applied and wear a hat. We will then stay up on the rec for a picnic so all children need to have a pack lunch on Wednesday. Thanks.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🙂
