This week we are continuing with the text ‘The Secret Garden.’ The children will be writing a diary entry.
In Maths, the children will be learning about capacity. We will be completing a lot of practical activities involving water. For example, ‘I am feeling very thirsty, what size cup shall I use?’ The children will be making predictions and testing their ideas. We will also learn how to read scales. Fingers crossed the weather is nice this week so we can do all water related activities outdoors!!
In Science we are identifying the parts of a plant. The children will choose how to show their learning, perhaps creating a 3D model of a plant or drawing a picture etc.
OWL this week is for Year 2 and Year 1 will be having PE.
Just to remind you that Parents Evenings are this week – Monday and Wednesday.
Thursday is World Book Day.
See you all Monday, enjoy your weekend 🙂
I hope you have all had a lovely half term and feeling well rested.
As you know this term the topic is ‘Gardens’. I am looking forward to seeing the children’s homework. 🙂
Maths – this week we will be looking at ‘time’.
English – I am not going to say anything yet as it is a surprise. So I will let the children tell you tomorrow!
As the weather is meant to be very nice tomorrow, I don’t want to waste the time by being cooped up in class so I am planning on going to the woods for OWL. This week it is Year 1. Year 2 will be having PE with Mike.
Further information about the term will be provided at the end of the week when I send home my termly overview sheet.
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to come and see me.
